Step daughter texts that she hates me

My 12 year old step daughter had $60. My husband and I took her and her friend to the mall to shop for Christmas gifts. I then took her and her friend to see New Moon, and let her friend stay the night.

That evening I saw that she had texted her "boyfriend" that she hated me because I wouldn't let her buy a $70 sweatshirt from Victoria's Secret and that I made her buy Christmas presents for our family.

She had dusted 3 rooms in our house the day before and I gave her 15 dollars for that. I helped her find presents for everyone which for her dad, me, her brother and sister totaled $40. She was allowed to buy whatever else she wanted with the remaining $20.

My step daughter is spoiled by her mother. She has an iPhone, iPod touch, Wii, Nintendo DS, digital camera.....the list goes on and on....

My question is I don't know what to do. She said that she doesn't hate me and that she just texted him that to look cool.

I am hurt because I am the one who planned the fun weekend for her like always, we bought her and her friend lunch, movie, snacks etc...and meanwhile, she is saying she hates me for having to buy Christmas presents for her family.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
