Parenting mixed kid

by Una
(New York)

I'm a new mom of 10 month old baby girl.
My husband is black and I'm white. I grew up in a country where I didn't had a chance to see a lot of black people.
So when I came to USA, I couldn't believe all the different colors that this country has. I was amazed.
Anyway I fell in love and married an African American. I was reading about the issues that biracial kids may have.
I m just trying to find out what is the best way to teach my daughter not to be confused about her heritage.
I would like some parents to give me some good advice that I can use.

For a good understanding of how you can combine two cultures in raising biracial children read Keepers of the Children. This tells how a white mother raised her children to embrace both their cultures.
