the people telling you you can't parent your own child because the color of your skin are being racist. your child is your child before all else, regardless of sex or race or whatever. do they tell you that you can't parent a baby boy because you are a woman and not a man, like him? their thinking is ridiculous, don't bother with them. being a good parent is about caring for your child. period.

who says you have to raise a black child? your child will be of mixed race. It's not the same. i have two boys mixed with African American. My children are mixed. I get upset when people make comments that because they're mixed with black, that makes them black. doesn't my race count?
