Morvryn Sage Leon

by Saskia Steidel-Brown
(Fort Campbell, Kentucky, USA)

Morvryn and I love going swimming

Morvryn and I love going swimming

What do the names mean?

Morvryn is an old Welsh name. Morvryn was the father of Myrrdin, who is known also as Merlin. The name means hill leprechaun (I hope this is how you spell this word) :-)

Sage of course is the plant. We also, like the Native Americans, burn sage to clear the atmosphere before "rituals" and we also use it for teas and as medicine.
Leon means lion. A lion is a mighty fighter.

What was your inspiration?

Morvryn is the name my baby chose for himself. Sounds odd, but it is true. When I was finally ready to have a baby, I invited the soul to come to us and to grow inside of me into a the human form. I had a totally different name for my child in mind, but when I invited the soul, I heard the name Morvryn. It was suddenly in my mind. My husband did not like the name at first. But then, a few weeks later, when I knew I had received, I had a dream about a boy named Morvryn and I knew he was my son. I knew I was pregnant with him. And even my husband suddenly liked the name and was excited about it. When I made a pregnancy test a few weeks later and went to the doctor to get my maternity pass (you get that in Germany), I told the doctor that I knew I was having a son. You should have seen her face. :-) Most doctors don't like unexplainable things like this. This is why I had my son at home.

Sage is his name, because Sage is his plant.

Leon... Leon is a name I did not like at first, but it was important to my husband. Leon is his stepfather. The man who he calls his daddy and who he really admires. I don't like it at all when a child gets the same name as someone else in the family. To me a child should always has his own name, but Leon was so important to my husband and it was "just" the 3rd name, which you don't see on most of the paperwork, so I thought "okay, we can do it". Now, I think it actually fits our boy as well.

Tell us about your child.

Morvryn is now almost 7 months old. What can I say? He is my perfect babyman. My love! I adore him and I have him with me 24/7. He is my little prince.
