confused about what is best for my daughter

My current fiancé and I have been together for about 2 years but best friends for 10. He is having a hard time dealing with my oldest daughter talking about and missing her ex-step father who was very good to her but it has been a very long time since he has been involved as a parent in her life.

How do I deal with this without making her think what she is doing is wrong?
