Child Cries When Mom Goes Out with Friends

I am a 46 year old divorced woman. I have been divorced 8 years and have not dated one time. I have 12 year old twins and one of my boys has a very hard time if I go out with my friends. He cries and makes it very difficult do go so as a result I don't go. These are not even dates they are nights out with friend (girls).

I only go out, or try to go out, 3 or four times a YEAR so it's not like I am always out doing things and leave him home. Is there something I can do? Is this normal? His twin has no problem with me going out. Thank you for your time.
