Anxiety Attack - The Symptoms, The Cause & A Cure

An anxiety attack or panic attack is fairly common. Since the symptoms of this disorder can be painful, emotionally crippling and distressing, we'll discuss the what causes the disorder and how you can progressively lesson and eliminate it from your life completely.

Before we begin, I should let you know that I used to suffer from panic attacks. Fortunately, I've learned coping mechanisms that I use the moment I feel that initial stab of fear. Now, rather than being paralyzed by my fears, I've learned to overcome them. I can't tell you how life-changing it is to be able to handle each new situation that comes my way with serenity and confidence. Although I may feel that little stab of fear, I know what to do with it, so I control it, rather than the other way around. And if I can do it, so can you. You deserve to live a life that is not driven by fear.

Symptoms of an Anxiety Attack:

  • A racing heart
  • Seeming inability to catch your breath
  • Dizziness
  • Visible shaking
  • Stomach distress
  • Blurry vision
  • Pins-and-needles sensations in extremities
  • Chest pains
  • Difficulty swallowing

Since all the symptoms above are associated with fear, the symptoms themselves can perpetuate your sense of feeling threatened.

What Causes Panic Attacks

Anxiety attacks are initiated by the amygdala which is a small organ in the brain which regulates your response to real and perceived threats. In the case of a real threat, the amygdala works in your favor, stimulating you to act, but it also works against you with its reaction to perceived threats. Like many systems in the body, it can act as an accelerator or a brake. Since an attack comes on suddenly with no conscious thought, this is a subconscious process, but you can train yourself to "put the brakes" on an over-anxious amygdala by learning how to recognize and respond consciously to your fears.

The Solution to Panic Attacks

The solution I found for myself will work for you because the response to a perceived threat can be unlearned through conscious training and an overreactive amygdala can be calmed in a way that will progressively lessen future attacks until they are eliminated completely. This is particularly important if you're a parent who is raising children. Since your children will sense your fear and subconsciously associate it with certain situations, by not taking care of your issue, you may pass it on. Used effectively by almost 90,000 people world wide, the solution I used includes manuals, dvds and ongoing support. It is perfect for anyone who suffers from panic attacks, OCD and phobias. Isn't it time you got control of your life, instead of letting your fears control you?
