Annoyed by the Term Incest

I'd just like to comment on the term "Incest". I find it a disturbing, misleading word that only serves to soften the reality of rape. I feel incest is consentual sex between adult family members and not the raping of a innocent child. "Family" should not have a separate term for the same crime. Rape is rape no matter who perpetrates it so I have and will never use the term "incest" to describe sex between an adult and child family member. I consider it a slap in the face to the victim.

No problem with the term Incest here.. NEW

I feel confident people know Incest is Rape. As a victim myself I have never felt that term implies consent between willing people per-se. There is no possible consent when a Father rapes his daughter etc..It's nauseating to me to read anyone defining Incest as consent. For me that term simply distinguishes the rape/molestation occurring between relatives by blood or marriage. It clearly screams out that one was not only raped but raped by a trusted relative. Now excuse me while I go F-ng throw up!

Agreed!!! It implies consent and equal blame.
